See Trees
See Trees
2010

See Trees is about trees.

It seems they’re pretty easy to take for granted. We pass them by without noticing, let alone acknowledging their presence. Even if it weren’t cliché to hug them, they’ve become a fixture of the landscape, and we’ve become habituated to them. Lamp post. Bus Stop. Tree.

Human brains are wired to relate to things with eyes. Hell, even digital cameras these days have face recognition software. So now the trees can communicate with you on your level. They look at you. You look back. Maybe you even hug.

This is an ongoing intervention into daily reality. Most of the trees end up in photos, and those photos end up on the See Trees blog, http://seetrees.wordpress.com.
