Muni Media Map
Revel Art Collective
May 28, 2011

Muni, San Francisco's public transit system is a communal gathering space on wheels, bringing together a diverse array of people, personalities, and ideas, pleasantly and otherwise.

Muni Media Map is a group show whose individual pieces form a collaborative art installation. Each artist interpreted one of the 55 Muni lines in any media of their choosing, which included guerrilla sculpture, comics, interviews, video, time lapse photography, performance art, audio recording, illustration, and a dance party on the train itself. Each piece and/or its documentation was physically represented at the show and linked to the eponymous map through corresponding "transit" lines spanning the gallery walls and floors. The centerpiece was a giant transit map painted directly on the wall.

This took place at the Schoolhouse during their 100 Days of Spring.
